Quigley Scores 100th Career Goal in Loss

WEST CHESTER--The Bloomsburg University women's lacrosse team lost to West Chester on Tuesday by a score of 12-7.

The Huskies jumped out on top with a goal by Samantha King (Elkton, MD/Northeast) just 1:54 into the game. West Chester, though, came back with the next six goals of the game over a 13-minute stretch to lead 6-1 before Bloomsburg's Kelsey Quigley (Lansdale/Methacton) broke the scoring run with a goal with 14:51 to go in the half. After two more goals by the Golden Rams, Quigley scored with 1:58 to go before halftime on an assist by Kim Springman (Downingtown/Bishop Shanahan).

Leading 9-3 going into the second half, West Chester scored the first goal of the period to lead by seven, 10-3. Bloomsburg came back with three goals over the next nine minutes to pull back to within four goals at 10-6. King, Quigley and Sam Alexander (Willow Grove/Upper Moreland) all scored for the Huskies. West Chester closed the game though with two of the final three goals to win by five, 12-7.

Quigley finished with three goals giving her 100 for her career, while King added two for the Huskies now 8-3, 5-2 in the PSAC East.

West Chester, 9-2, 7-0 in the PSAC East and ranked fifth in the country, got four goals from Courtney Whiting.

Bloomsburg will host PSAC-west rival Lock Haven on Saturday at 1 p.m.
